Preventing Debit/ATM Card Fraud
Progressive Bank, N.A. is just one of many community banks fighting against Debit/ATM card fraud. We have procedures in place to help mitigate fraud losses once the fraud begins. Unfortunately the potential for Debit/ATM card fraud continues to grow and we are continuing our efforts to prevent Debit/ATM card fraud before it occurs.
Effective June 1, 2011, Progressive Bank N.A. will begin blocking all international Debit/ATM card transactions.
What this means to you – Transactions made using your Debit/ATM card will be blocked as follows:- Using your Debit/ATM card in a foreign country while traveling outside the United States.
- Using your Debit card to make a purchase or payment through a company that is located outside the United States.
- Using your Debit card to make a purchase or payment and the transaction is processed by a payment processor that is located outside the United States.
As studies have revealed, blocking international transactions is one of the most effective means of deterring Debit/ATM card fraud. If any of the above transaction blocking situations would apply to you, please contact our Electronic Banking Department at (304) 218-2441 or (866) 235-1923 for alternative solutions concerning international Debit/ATM card transactions.
